Will My Child Feel Isolated Attending Online School?

Most people can understand the perks to online schooling, such as personalized learning, specialized teachers, smaller classrooms, and alternative or flexible scheduling.

However, the topic of socialization versus isolated attending online school tends to stir up conversation and confusion.

Families of in person student learning usually have several questions for parents of children who choose online schooling. While some people may feel an eye role necessary, we think it is a great thing, and it gives online students and their parents an opportunity to provide insight to some of the common myths about online school, including the biggest myth of all: Online students don’t receive proper socialization.

People ask questions like, "Do you work in your pajamas?” “How do you manage to socialize" and “Do you have any friends?”

CVA parents can point out detailed moments such as: “I love listening to my middle schooler describe the details of their online schooling life as if they asked any adult. "Naturally, I’m glowing with pride, because seeing them converse like this reminds me that they’re growing into well-socialized young adults.”
